The face is hand embroidered directly into the cloth. No plastic eyes, no buttons, nothing glued on, nothing that can come away.

 

Materials

Body and blanket: 100% GOTS certified organic cotton muslin, undyed.

Filling: 100% natural cotton, no polyester fibrefill.

Head: 95% organic cotton with 5% elastane. The elastane is what lets the head keep its shape through washing and years of handling. GOTS allows up to 5% synthetic fibre in a certified product. We would rather state it than round the number up.

Safety

All facial detail is embroidered, so there are no small parts. Suitable from [X] months. As with any soft item, follow standard guidance on what goes in the cot in the first year.

 

Care

Spot clean, or hand wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent. Reshape while damp and dry flat. Do not tumble dry, as it moves the cotton filling. Do not iron.

 

Hand stuffed with cotton and hand embroidered, which is why it is not machine washable. That is the trade for having no synthetic filling and no plastic parts.

BabyOliv began with a simple observation: most baby blankets, even those marketed as "natural," are heavily processed. During our own journey as parents, we noticed the clinical scents of industrial finishes and the harshness of synthetic dyes. We felt that a newborn’s skin—thin and absorbent—deserved something better than a product of textile engineering.

We went to the source to find a different way. In the rural highlands of Vietnam, we found artisans who still practice the traditional art of hand-looming. Our blankets are crafted from 100% organic cotton, left in its raw, cream-colored state. By rejecting industrial dyes, chemical softeners, and high-heat factory processes, we’ve created a blanket that is truly breathable and honest.

BabyOliv is a return to basics. It is a handmade promise of safety, offering parents a simple, unprocessed solution that respects both the artisan and your child’s well-being.
